“I must say I am so relieved you ladies made it” Elisha said as he came round to hug the ladies

Thoko was excited to see him but even more intrigued at how well the party was put together, it seemed everything about this arrangement was well catered for in cash. Money must have gone into planning this event.

“No we weren’t going to disappoint you” Thoko said

“well  thank you so much… so what are you taking?”

Thoko thought the question through meanwhile Enesie was quick to mention that she loved herself some Hunters gold if they had any.

“Oh sure we do, and you my lady?

Thoko dragged her response until Elisha gave suggestions of the many drinks they had.

“that’s just to mention a few” he chuckled

“Ok.. I will have a glass of champagne” she said.

Elisha left to direct the bartender to take the drinks to the ladies while he went to greet other guests. Enesie was not so happy about how Enesie was handling herself that she spoke up.

“I am not sure what you are trying to do but please get in character…”

“Meaning?”

“Thoko, just act right is all I am saying” Enesie replied as the bartender served their drinks

Enesie's drink was poured in a  glass before Thoko’s champagne was poured. Meanwhile, Thoko took a couple of pictures and waited her turn. Her glass was filled with the best champagne they had. To her surprise, the bottle was left on her table.

 “its either this guy has a lot of money or he really just planed out his party very well” Enesie said

Thoko nodded her head in agreement.

“Looks like we are off to a very great start” Thoko added.

The DJ was playing just the right music and Thoko couldn’t help but whine along, one thing about Thoko, she had a great body. Her body spoke for itself. She looked amazing always. With a medium waist, wide hips and a bum that had every head turning, Thoko could grab any guys attention. Her fair skin, cute fairly chubby face and slight neck folds made her even cuter. Thoko was not only a cutie but also very intelligent and independent.

“I like this guy, he is manly, just the way I like them” Thoko said as she looked at Elisha who stood at a distance.

Enesie ignored her as she sipped on her drink.

“You know what I wonder though? is he really single?, he looks like he has a lot put together to just be single. I know my Zambian sisters, they just don’t spare men”

“Well, I am going to say let’s just have fun. Eat and drink to our heart’s content and anything else in between will figure itself out” Enesie said before taking another long sip from her glass

“I hope Mr Mumba has sent the budget to the director like he said”

“Eh Thoko, I will go over there to have fun as you remain here thinking about work. For crying out loud relax… have fun.. why must everything go in a certain way with you? I didn’t come here to discuss work, Monday..”

Thoko sighed before gently shaking her glass.

“champagne is overrated” she said.

Enesie burst out into laughter “so much for trying to look boogie.. bane why not just take what you always take?”

Thoko ignored her friend and forced another sip.

“Mmm I’m not going to have a good time with this” she said before putting her glass down.

Elisha was heading back to their direction and Thoko composed herself.

“Enjoying yourselves?”

“My friend here is complaining” Thoko said

Enesie had a shocked look on her face but Thoko continued.

“She says it’s unfair I am taking champagne, she loves it when we take the same thing so I will equally take hunters gold”

“Oh no dear there’s more champagne we can get her a bottle” he said

“No.. I’m good with hunters” Enesie said lifting her glass.

“Ok, keep this for home then. I will ask the guy to bring you hunters gold” Elisha said before leaving their presence.

“wow.. you do like embarrassing me don’t you?” Enesie asked.

The party was well coming through and The ladies were now up and trying to mingle after Elisha introduced them to his cousins, by the time the night was advancing, Elisha's cousins and friends had a strong liking for Enesie. Let’s say, Enesie loved having fun and letting loose, she didn’t pretend when it came to having fun. Enesie was also good at engaging in intelligent conversations and contrary to her friend, Enesie spoke less of herself and listened more to what everyone else had to share. No one there knew Enesie had a degree in banking and finance as well an accredited fellow of ACCA. At a young age she managed to get to the highest accolade in the biggest body of accountants. She was also almost completing her master’s in Economics.

“its time for the birthday boy to cut his cake and make a wish” the DJ shouted through the mic

Thoko and Elisha were so all over each other that it was so clear what would happen. Elisha asked Thoko to help him cut the cake but first the birthday song needed to be sung. Thoko was bored all through out the song but kept face and sung along smilingly. The song was completed and it was Elisha’s turn to tell his age much to Thoko’s dismay. Upon feeding him his cake Thoko rushed to the bathroom and Enesie followed her.

“44!”

“It is not bad Thoko come on…”

“Not bad?? Can you listen to yourself? This guy is 18years my senior come on!!!” Thoko yelled

Enesie was confused, Elisha had not even asked her friend out but it clearly could lead to that. All she could do was refuse if she didn’t want to. She didn’t understand the fuss.

“Enesie let’s go…” Thoko said searching for her car keys in her bag.

“Thoko please don’t annoy me, at least let’s stay for the rest of the party”

“Enesie you are coming alone…” Thoko said finally after finding her keys.

“Thoko I beg you, do not make it obvious.. let’s Wait a little longer”

Thoko was not buying it and she rushed out heading to her car. Enesie had no choice but to follow because even if she stayed behind and took an Ulendo, she would have to explain where her friend was.

“Me? An old man? God forbid!!! Even if I’m that desperate.. hell no!!” Thoko said as she fastened her seat belt

“Thoko do me a favor, we have left the party so please spare me the rant. I don’t want to hear of it”.
