 GETTING THEM 24 

Austin was very caring, he was at my school in no time and begun to complain about why he did not like the girls in the first place. He had made up his mind and according to him the only way I was going to be safe was to be as far away from the girls as possible, he was going to get me a boarding house, I was glad he came to that conclusion as I was not going to stay any longer in such an environment. I believed Litase and Salome were too evil to hang out in my circle. We drove around marshlands area and finally came to what seemed like a promising end. The yard had 3 blocks of hostels inside and it’s the best we could get otherwise anywhere else would be too far. The hostels were actually so nice and I imagined Austin would not pay the bill. 

“Wow!!!” I exclaimed 

I was shocked at how well this place was maintained; walking into what would most likely be my small flat I looked at Austin and smiled. 

“It is perfect” I said. 

“It sure is and you won’t ever be late because the walk to school won’t be long… we can safely say this is home now” 

Austin walked out to negotiate with the caretaker while I stayed in my small apartment. When you walk in the first thing you see is the kitchen to your right and it was well built with cabinets and a stove as well as fridge. When you proceed on there was a door that led to the bathroom on the left and further down was a spacious bedroom with a double bed. I was impressed and happy at the same time. Coming back to hug me, Austin assured me we had reserved the apartment and he suggested I go and move right away as he was unable to help me shift the following day. We would not be seeing each other because of work. 

“Honey what do I say if I find her in the room?’ I asked as we walked out the condo. 

“You tell her your man wanted you in a place he could easily come to see you...”  

I took that as a satisfying answer and we headed on. Litase was not back when I got to my room and that was good because she would have been waiting for me. Another thought struck me that she was probably in her room but then she would have called me to ask where I was. I had just started packing my clothes when Litase walked in, she seemed surprised. Litase had called a young girl to help her bring the groceries upstairs. She had bought so much grocery which she hoped we would share. I was surprised she was so generous. But why wouldn’t she be? The money probably did not hurt seeing that it came from a married man. 

“Girlfriend what is going on? I am gone one minute and here you are packing” she said 

I was speechless for a moment trying to come up with the perfect lie. As my mind gathered all the lies I could tell, Litase kept staring at me. She had an intimidating look and I could imagine she was someone you would not afford to be on bad terms with.
