 TOO FAR TO REACH 

CHAPTER 27

It wasn’t long before I realised we would not be in our home for long, that is Jeff and I. To my surprise, Jeff had booked us into the lovely Peninsula Hotel where we would spend our three - day honey moon. I was so excited that I couldn’t help but hug Jeff tightly when he broke the news. It was totally unexpected. I had just calm down after my outpour of emotions when Jeff handed me our reservation, this meant so much because I was finally going to have the feeling of officially being married as it was all wrapped up with a honeymoon. 

“Honey do you know this reservation was all last minute?” 

I looked at him in awe as he further on explained that he was just about to rest last night when it occurred to him that he planned all this without a honeymoon. 

“Honey, I just thought maybe it’s best that we actually make this feel as best as we would want it for the sake of memories. Its sad I could not give you your dream wedding, I would have wanted to plan out something even here but you know we can just never be sure… one way or another images can lick. I do not want to leave anything to chance” he said. 

“Thank you my love” I said excitedly 

Jeff had a smirk on his face and I could guess it came from a silly place. I was now sitted on the bed and just relaxing as I needed to catch a moment after all he said.

“What?” I asked as Jeff kept his smirk.

“My wife” he said.

I must say I felt shy for a moment and giggled. 

“Do you know that I still get butterflies” I said to him shyly.

“Literally makes the two of us” he giggled.

Jeff sat next to me as we looked at each other through the dressing mirror before us.

“We make a great couple” he said as he looked at me through the mirror.

“We do.. you know what’s even more interesting?” I asked.

“What’s that?” He asked.

“The fact that this was all orchestrated by God… we really had no hand in it… I personally didn’t” I said with a giggle. 

Jeff was quiet for a moment as he continued looking at me.

“What’s going through your mind?” I asked 

”Would you want to introduce me to your God?” 

I never saw that coming but that brings me back to this one thing I had never talked much about. Jeff was always optimistic and believed in good things, he believed in good deeds and that what you give you shall get in return. He however was not a Christian. He did not belong to a particular faith. He was just living. I often thought that was an empty way of living but not once did I ever bring it up because I was not trying to change him. I knew many Christian’s who were living horribly. Jeff was very good.

“Honey I would love to” I said.

My face soon became down and I looked through the mirror again, I looked at myself and held my belly.

“I have not really been living right myself but I would love to come back” I said

Jeff held my hand and looked me in the yes as we faced each other.

“I don’t know much but the little I know is this, God looks at your heart and your real intentions… I will not say anything more lest I mislead you”

I smiled and nodded, that was about all the assurance I needed.

We eventually left the room to see aunty and break the news to her.. we would not be spending a night as we had to go to our hotel reservation. Aunty was comfortably relaxing in the living room when we walked in holding hands.

“I thought you were resting… the long flight must have had a strain on you” aunty said.

I nodded as Jeff explained that we were packing a few things. We were going to our honeymoon. Aunty was excited for us.

“oh that’s wonderful but you are living me in this house alone?”

I know aunty did not really mean it that way, she was only joking.

“you have two maids to help you, three as a matter of fact.. the other is solely hired to do the cooking” Jeff quickly responded.

We joined aunty in the TV room and explained everything to her, she was okay with the idea and was glad that we were finally going to settle into our marriage.  Jeff explained a lot about how to operate everything around the house but also insisted that one maid would sleep with the house just to help out, the maid was Jacinta. I had seen Jacinta just when we walked in but paid little attention to her as I was taking in the house. I finally got a chance to look at her. She was a beautiful Zulu girl, she looked about 21yrs old. Jacinta was very light in complexion, a beautiful round face and petite body… well her upper body was petite.. her bottom.. uhmm let’s just say the Zulu in her was all visible from there. I swallowed hard when I realised my two maids dressed in very and I mean very short uniforms. I was a bit uncomfortable.

Jacinta and Nokutula were my two maids and they both joined us as Jeff called them so he could introduce them to aunty and I. I was laying comfortably on the couch but slowly sat upright to know my maids properly. Jacinta made no eye contact, she looked through the window behind me the whole time Jeff spoke. Nokutula on the other hand was this beautiful dark toned chubby girl, she had beautiful curves too and a cute dimples,  I could see through her that there was a lovely human being inside. I imagined we would have very good laughs together. It was my dear aspiring sister wife Jacinta who looked to be a problem. Jacinta not only looked in the opposite direction as Jeff spoke, she also quickly left without acknowledging my presence with a very damn excuse that she had left water running in the bathroom as she was preparing Jeff his bath. Jeff cut in quickly by saying he would not be having his usual baths as we were proceeding on to our honeymoon, however; he still let her go so she could turn off the water. Aunty and I had a silent glance at each other, it was clear we both were thinking the same thing.
