Getting them 14

I was a little mad that I had to wait for Mr Chalwe when I got to the mall, according to him he had been stuck in traffic but we agreed to put it all behind us and enjoy the moment. We bought pizza and agreed to eat from the car as he was tired and didn’t want to be in a place with too many people. That was fine by me. I was hoping during this time we could discuss his marital status as that was important.

“You are so beautiful” he said as we settled in the car after picking our pizza.

I couldn’t help but notice he was tired even though he had insisted that we meet for dinner. He yawned and stretched himself as he encouraged me to eat while convincing me that he was not really that hungry and this meeting was just to see me. I felt uncomfortable indulging in the food when he was not partaking; I did not want to look too hungry or desperate for food.

“Then its fine I will warm it and eat at home… we can talk for now” I said.

“What do you want to talk about? I could listen to you all day” he said.

I looked at Mr Chalwe and he decided to help me with getting the pizza from my lap and putting it in the backseat.

“At least your hands should be free, you ladies like to talk with your hands” he teased.

I smiled and at that comment while wonder which ladies he had been observing. I obviously did not think he was somewhere single just waiting for me, obviously not. Mr Chalwe looked at me directly and asked me a very awkward question.

“Did you enjoy our kiss last night?”  I smiled and nodded my head.

“I did too and I could not stop thinking about it, I could not sleep early”

The conversation could have gone any way at this point but I was thinking of only one thing, I was the one with the power to decide how this went and if I let him lead the conversation we would not discuss anything meaningful.

“Mr Chalwe…” I started

With his right hand slightly raised and a cute smile on his face he interrupted. 

“Please call me Austin” he said.

“Is that your other name?” I asked.

“Yes that name I was given by my dad and it’s my favourite, I have a couple others but Austin is what i would rather you call me” he said. I nodded and went on.

“Austin, are your married?”

There was an awkward silence between us but I knew whatever would come out of his mouth, I needed to know what to do.

Austin stretched pulled back the sleeves of his shirt and then looked at me seriously.

“No I am not married but I have been with a certain lady who is currently pursuing her nursing degree, we have been having problems and I just decided we have some space while deciding what to do with ourselves. I really like you” he said.
