RENTED LIFE CHAPTER 18

 

The words echoed in Simon’s ear, Mr. Ying minced no words, they were done and ready to withdraw from the company.

“is there a way around this?” he asked

“Mr Simon, we are positive that you have a great vision for this organization but when something isn’t working its best to call it quits… if you liquidate now, you stand a greater chance at walking away with a gret sum of money and be able to start up something that…”

Simon shook his head as he moved his shoulders forward and resting his arms on the table.

“I appreciate your concern Mr. Ying but no... we are not going into liquidation. My father spent a fortune building this organization and he did absolutely well…”

“See your father had a vision and it worked well for that time, however, now we are looking at time and recent trends…”

“I’m sorry Mr. Ying but you are not at all suggesting that I have been doing a terrible job are you now?

“Absolutely not, but could you do better? Yes, that I will agree… I feel at this point there isn’t much you can do to revamp this place… start up something new before this begins to cost you a lot of money”

Simon sighed emotionally but still not ready to accept the truth before him.

“Actually, I was doing some thinking.” he said.

Mr. ying leaned in forward.

“How about we become partners?” Simon confidently asked.

Mr. Ying had a grin on his face as he shook his head, he clearly had enough thought too and was sure he was not ready to go that path.

“Mr. Ying wang..”

“Simon, I have worked with you successfully for years now. I know you will do better at something different. Sale your shares and I will be in a partner who will help me run it… we are capable of running this company…”

Simon was very sad; an overwhelming sense of sadness filled him as he realized he would have to have this difficult conversation with his father.

 

“ Elupe travel and logistics will continue to run as it did before, yes, its hard right now and falling on tough times is inevitable. Mr. Ying, if the only way we can move forward is to pay you off then please let’s proceed that way. I am not sure how best we can move forward but this here is my decision” Simon said.

 

Mr. Ying looked at his partners who seemed agitated by the decision.

“Mr. Simon, my partners and I have agreed on taking in all the employees and even maintaining the company name. everything will continue to stay the same all we need is just for you to be forth coming… it will be best for you. You have a whole career ahead of you and this will do you enough good. 1million Us dollars,,, please take it or leave it..”

 

Simon thought of how much that money would automatically ease his life, he needed that rest away from stressing about keeping the company together. He was tired of dipping into his pockets to try and save the company and its employees. this would make a huge difference.

“Mr Ying, I would like to reach my father. Let me talk to him about all this”

Ýour father has great faith in you and he let you handle this business for a reason… don’t you think at this point you are mature enough to make this decision?” Mr. Ying said pushing his luck.

Simon felt a little belittled but knew that there was no way this father would be disappointed in him for seeking advice.

“I will talk to my father… he will be in the country in two a few weeks. Lets give it a month’”

One of Mr. Yings colleagues looked like the wealth partner and each time Mr Ying said anything, he referred to him for a reaction and this time the partner nodded his head.

”a month is all we have’ Mr Ying said.
