RENTED LIFE CHAPTER 23

Aaliyah was getting ready to step out when Kuni finally showed up, she was looking very happy but when Aaliyah enquired, she pretended not to be. Kuni had no intentions of talking about her meeting with Simon, she had kept it a secret and she was hopping to maintain it that way. Kuni loved Aaliyah to death but she was becoming uncomfortable about how she had involved her way too much in her relationship and she had even decided not to tell her about meeting Simons parents.

Aaliyah was clad in a suit consisting of shorts and a shirt, she was so well put together but her outfit was too revealing and completely left nothing to the imagination.

“I will be going for a sleep over… again” she giggled to herself.

Kuni attentively listened as Aaliyah narrated about this guy who she had a great connection with and he had been amazing in her life. He was also responsible for most of the wonderful things she owned.

“Ok, so you mean to tell me there are men out there that would spoil a lady who is just their girlfriend like this?”

“Kuni, you have seen nothing yet, many can be generous… yes this is Lusaka, people have money and they are willing to flaunt it without a worry in the world”

Kuni nodded her head in disbelief as Aliyah modelled before her.

“I hope you will not be bored” Aaliyah said

“No I will not be,, I am never bored… have fun. Do not worry about me” she said.

“I will, have you started packing? You’re relocating Monday remember?”

“what’s there to pack, its just my bag… I wonder what I will be using.. no stove no nothing.. but I guess the money I will get should be able to carter for that”

“are you serious? Stove? Did you not get a chance to see the house?”

“no..”

Aliyah put her bag on Kunis bed as she excitedly begun to describe exactly what the teachers’ apartments looked like. The detailed description almost seemed like a lie that Kuni looked at her friend with a smirk.

“I will let you go and see for yourself but otherwise you might just need a bed and food otherwise everything else is already in there” she said

“Is it? I am excitedly then”

Aaliyah hurried out with shouts of excitement; she was not going to be back until the following day. Kuni had to find something to do and talking to Simon felt like something she could focus on. In the past, she loved to communicate for long hours on the phone and even sleep on phone sometimes but after how everything had turned out with her ex, she had focused more on building a genuine connection than promising each other sweet nothings on phone all night. Starting a new life in Lusaka was surreal, she was still trying to pinch herself. It seemed she was not the only one who was thinking of reaching out, Simon rang her phone and they began talking and laughing, before she knew it, she had been on the phone for an hour already. At this point it was safe to say she was back to her lover girl days. It had to take something to bring it back. Simon not only had a charming voice but he was also wonderful company and he seemed to love really hard. When she concluded her call, Kuni screamed with joy and a sigh of relief. It felt right, everything felt exactly right.

“10 pm Simon really? I almost though you were not coming” Aaliyah said tiredly as she ushered Simon into the hotel room.

“I almost changed my mind to be honest, I have so much on my mind and I didn’t want to come and stress you” he said.

“There you go again, how many times must I tell you that you never stress me? You are are literally my best friend and I don’t want you to ever think you bother me”

Simon smiled and he reached out to hug her.

“I needed a shower and I am hungry” he said.

“But the kitchen must be closed already” Aaliyah said.

“Have you already eaten?” he asked.

“Well, I nibbled, but I wouldn’t mind eating something. What did you want to have?”

“Maybe we can drive to keg and eat and party then come and sleep what do you think?
