AREN’T THEY ALL? 3

It had been a week, Nicholas was trying hard to forget Katongo but it seemed she left a lasting impression. That week he had been home early from Monday all the way till Friday but now he needed to see Katongo, after knocking  off Nicholas went home and had a quick shower. His wife was visiting a friend and she was only coming back an hour later.

“Tell her I have a business meeting and I will be back sooner than she thinks” he said to his maid

Nicholas was looking good, his white polo  shirt and dark blue jeans outfit would pass for a guy making six figures. Nico made sure he pulled out his Rolex and ensured it hang luxuriously on his wrist, in his hands was a pouch of Versace sunglasses that he got for his birthday. The white sneakers on his feet were brand new from a Nike store and he got them on his way home.

“sir.. there are no vegetables”

Nicholas pulled out his wallet and placed a K100 note on the kitchen counter top before rushing out, he was in high spirits and humming an interesting tune. Meanwhile, the maid was excited to get some free time to squeeze in an episode of her favourite series on zeeworld.

The car looked perfectly clean because it had been to the car wash on his way home, he needed to impress Katongo so he put everything into consideration, including his perfume. For the first time Nicholas pulled out his Versace Eros, Christina had been trying to get him to wear this perfume since he got it but at last he was doing it for Katongo. All the way, Nicholas was in high spirits and playing music. On replay was a rhythm by Ruger titled Snapchat. Not quite a decent song for the decent young lady he was going to see but he knew she would be head over hills soon. You see, Nicholas had taste, he dined with most happening ladies, he soared no expense to just have a good time with a girl of his choice.

The mall was slowly getting packed but Jeff had one quick errand to run, he needed to get pizza and juice to go with it. He hoped Katongo would like it. The guy braced himself and drove to somewhere near her house he waited there patiently. He figure she would be coming home around the same time as he met her previously but a 30minute wait proved otherwise, he decided to enter her premises to check.

Katongo and her friend were having a good time laughing and chatting, they were waiting for meat to defrost so the could have a small braii. Katongo was peeling potatoes while her friend grated carrots for the  coleslaw. The third friend had rushed to buy Hungarian sausage to add to the mini braii. The girls had also 5ltr wine. Katongo was not a heavy drinker but she did so once in while. Cynthia was just walking back when she noticed a guy attempting to enter the gate, the man was fine and she wondered if he was going to the main house. He looked lost.

“sir can I help you?” Cynthia asked.

“Oh yes. .. I am looking for a certain lady.. unfortunately she gave me her name and I don’t remember, she was quite fair in complexion and sorry my battery has died … I can’t call her. I’m sure she stays here”

Cynthia thought for a moment, the description did not really match anyone she could think of but she was sure it was nobody from the main house. A quick look at Nicholas surely suggested the man was loaded and could get a woman of his choice, why on Earth was he looking for that person around their area.

“I don’t think I know who you are talking about but I live with two of my friends. Maybe it could be one of them. The main house only has much older women and children.. “ she said

Confused and wondering what to do, Cynthia opted to just invite him in and see if he recognized who he was looking for. Katongo was sitting on a Reed mat and busy peeling potatoes, she was clad in a legging and long tshirt. When Cynthia emerged with Nicholas Katongos jaw dropped.

Nicholas smiled. “Hai”
