STORY TIME
AREN'T THEY ALL?
Katongo stretched her dress as she approached the famous pub
in her neighbourhood, she was suddenly not comfortable in her dress but it was long
enough to cover her knees. After a long day in the shop where she was trying to
earn a decent living, the last thing she needed was someone trying to get her attention.
This was common, often times Katongo was
stopped by a man or two and they were offering to buy her a drink or food. With
little choice, Katongo maintained the same route all the time as it was much safer
looking at the time she mostly got off work. The other streets were already quiet
and not much activity going on after 7pm.
Nicholas had just arrived at the pub after a busy day at work, he
was very responsible and his family was well cared for. You could say Nicholas was a family oriented man as he spent most of his time with his wife and children. However, this
day was different, there was soccer and Zambia was playing. Despite Nicholas being
a family man, he did not always have a clean slate when it came to faithfulness.
He had a few hiccups where he entertained a lady or two but always made it clear
that he was married and highly respected his wife. Nicholas’s social media
profile always show cased his marital status giving his wife so much pride much
to the frustration of her peers. Christina was always raving about her marriage
on social media for whoever cared to see, she had finally earned herself the title
“ba my husband” well this was because Christina was the type that was always discussing
her husband. It was always my husband this or my husband that. Nicholas was never
caught by his wife because his escapades were always one night stands, he bought
a lady alcohol every once in a while and they would share a kiss and cuddle and
in the rarest circumstances, this would lead to adultery. However, Nicholas had
these few encounters hidden with a boastful attitude. He would never particularly
fancy someone enough to need them after a one night stand.
Nicholas parked just outside the pub and called his dear
wife.
“I am at the pub now honey.. . Soccer will be done in 90 minutes
and I will be home. Do you need anything on my way back?” he asked.
Christina sighed as she curled on the couch watching a travel
vlog, she was enjoying a cup of coffee in her comfortable living room. Nicholas had done
enough in his accounting career to ensure his family never lacked. This was evident
from the expensively furnished four bedroom house they had built, it came with luxury
features as well as a spa room, gym, man cave, kids play room and a unique Santorini
swimming pool.
“honey I think pizza will do, I am not cooking” Christina said.
“No problem my darling. I love you”
Nicholas picked his scarf show casing his love for football especially
the Zambian team. After ensuring the door was locked, Nicholas was about to head into the pub when his heart skipped. He saw a beauty like never before,
a light lady in complexion with a great smile and great confidence. She resembled
a goddess. Nicholas quickly slid his left hand in his pocket, for the first time
ever, he hid his wedding band.
