Just as he could remember, June looked so beautiful, the lady was blessed with curves in all the right places. It was clear she could easily win him over with her effortless sense of style, he could not tell she wore nude makeup. Elisha hid his anxiety as he pulled a chair for his date. He could not get past her enticing perfume, this was easily the best date he could have as they soon got chatting and laughing.

“How is Emily?” June asked in her calm tone, she was quite the opposite of Emily’s mother.

“Well my baby girl is doing fine.. her and her bestfriend seem to already be getting so comfortable here”

“It’s a beautiful place, why? don’t you like it?”

“Well I do.. I’m just battling with thoughts of letting her leave you know… she’s maturing way too fast I can’t”

June giggled as she got the realisation.

“So.. June.. how do you like your tea?”

The two were now flipping through the menus set before them

“funny enough I don’t even take tea at all…” she giggled

“Really?”

“coffee I suppose?”

“don’t take that either” she giggled still flipping through her menu.

“When it comes to hot beverages I can not stand anything that has caffeine so you can say I take caffeine free tea” she said.

Elisha was quite impressed that she took her health seriously, it was good and quite refreshing to see. Elisha was optimistic if they worked out she could help him be in control of his health too. He had been drinking carelessly and paying little attention to what he was feeding his body. However, he was physically fit and quite attractive for his age.

Tea was served accompanied with croissants and french toast, June equally ordered a fruit bowl with plain yoghurt. The breakfast was not only delicious but the conversation was even more interesting. June was great company and Elisha knew he wanted to officially ask her to be his lady but he did not want to rush anything. Luckily, he still had enough time in Milan to spend even more time with her. To woe her and make her feel special was the goal.

“I loved every part of this tea date” June said as they concluded.

“I did too.. honestly you are great company…”

Elisha looked June straight in her eyes and smiled, she shyly smiled back as her fingers remained crossed for the main question, she truly hoped it would come. It felt right, there was no need to wait. June knew it was obviously better for them to take their time but she had also been in the game long enough to know if something was mutual. It was clear beyond doubt all was moving smoothly between them but Elisha did not ask. However, he asked for another date but this time, he wanted them to have dinner.

“he did not ask me to be his girlfriend” June sighed as she threw her bag on the floor.

“Relax, it was your first official date” Thandi said handing her a glass of wine as she settled on the couch.

“wine.. I needed it… a whole three hours of speaking English and I could not even get a proposal..”

“You know I’ve been wondering… what on Earth have you been doing… Just tea?”

“Yes! Just tea… I don’t know Thandi.. I am way past endless conversations.. I need a man who simply gets to the point”

Thandi laughed it off and engaged her bestie in some interesting happenings back home. The two ladies had a great friendship despite the 3 year age Gap. From the hot gossip concerning Thandi’s love life, the two delved into what they both wanted for the year ahead. Career came first and the rest would definitely fall into place.

“This guy… so he says he is going round town and he is asking if I’m open minded to go with him” June said looking at her phone.

“So? Are you going?” Thandi enquired inquisitively.

“I don’t know… should I? I’m bored…”

“Well then go, it’s just been two hours. I think he can’t get over your tea date… you won him over. And seeing that you’re bored, maybe.. .”

“I mean bored with this whole thing… I can’t do endless conversations, you know me. I feel like I’m forced into this shell because of this guy… I can’t be myself. I’m being too careful, choosing my words, sounding smart all the time.. I can’t”

Thandi sat upright and focused her attention on June who was lying on the carpet.

“I suggest then that don’t go… wait for a man who is you type”

June rolled her eyes “my type? My type doesn’t exist” she said quickly getting up.

“I want him and I will have him..  everything else will fall into place… I will teach him to like me”

“Ah ok…” Thandi raised an eyebrow.

“What?”

“Nothing… make the most of this afternoon. Let him know you”

“I will get the door” Enesie said as she adjusted her shorts

June was getting her makeup done by Thandi and she panicked realising Elisha had made his way to the apartment before she was ready.

“Tell him I’m almost done” june called out.

Enesie opened the door and her jaw dropped, Elisha was even more surprised

“hai…” Elisha greeted while he processed how she could possibly be in Milan.
