The chauffeur was an Italian gentleman of about 40yrs taking a wild guess; he was very handsome and had that italiano poise. Despite seeing all that, Enesie ignored and took a deep sigh as soon as she was settled in. The drive to the hotel was extremely quiet with Enesie staring outside the window the whole time, the city was still awake and peaceful but she felt dead inside with an unexplainable grief. For the first time Enesie felt desperate to be with a man in her life, she felt so insulted and replayed June calling her an underdog or just the other girl who would never get noticed. A lot of things even seemed to add up now, like for instance how no man had ever taken her seriously or why all her friends got crushed on when they went out. All she wanted was a shot of tequila the moment they got to the hotel. The driver said little apart from his greeting and focussed on the road, the two ladies did not bother either to engage him.

“we are here” the driver said pulling over at the luxurious hotel 

Enesie rushed out without a thank you and headed to the reception where Thandi met her and they got their room card. Enesie was still fairly well put together but she begun changing.

“Are you going somewhere?” Thandi asked wonderingly

Enesie just nodded her head and continued, she changed into a short black bandage dress and fixed a 30inch Brazilian wig. She quickly dusted her face with fresh powder and told Thandi she was going in search of the hotel bar. Thandi offered to walk her there while she would return to her room and try to catch up on some work emails she had received. This was far from the truth, Thandi was so embarrassed at how June behaved and she blamed herself for insisting that they come to Milan, the whole ordeal seemed like Thandi’s fault. The bar was beautifully set up overlooking the swimming pool; Enesie’s confidence was just heightened as she walked past the pool in her 12inch bottega white black stilettos. She put her purse on the counter and was about to order a drink when a voice said.

“I should have known you just wanted to run away from me”

Enesie looked around, the voice sounded way too familiar but it could not be. But she was right and there he was, like fine wine. 

“Elisha?”

“I have been staying here” he said shaking his whisky glass.

Enesie was so shocked that she could not keep her mouth closed. 

“What happened? Was I such terrible company that you changed plans?” he asked jokingly but with great intent

“To be fairly honest no... i really wanted to go and rest until i decided i didn’t want to rest anymore...” she said with a giggle suppressing what she really felt inside.

“I see... well i will not disturb you... lest someone punches me in the face” he teased.

“well, I am actually booked here too... I mean my cousin and I... we were planning on our next stop before we leave Milan and this felt like a good fit... she’s tired though and she couldn’t come down here..”

Elisha didn’t seem very convinced but he nodded his head in acknowledgment of having heard what she said.

“Ok... you drink to your heart’s content... I will be over there watching soccer” he said before signalling to the bartender that she was drinking on his bill
