LIKE FINE WINE 13
June had just
emerged when Enesie quickly cleared her mind and welcomed Elisha into the
house. There was an awkward silence that swept through the room and June
immediately sensed something was up. Her body gripped with fear in hopes that
Enesie and Elisha were never a couple knowing they both came from Zambia. Enesie
left the room much to Elisha’s dismay, he hoped they could chat a little more
but the situation could not allow.
“What
happened?” Thandi asked a visibly distressed Enesie
Enesie sat on
the bed and gave her cousin a blank look. Her cousin had just tacked in bed to
take a short nap.
“What is it?
What has happened? Why do you look like you just saw a ghost”
Enesie sighed
heavily.
“Don’t tell
me you know her date”
“actually I
do…” Enesie posed upon sensing June’s presence.
June
pretended not to have heard them as she proceeded to pick her phone which she
left by the dressing mirror. Enesie quietly played with her fingers while
Thandi focused on her phone. June left in an awkward way, there wasn’t much
enthusiasm in her voice as she said goodbye. The two ladies remained quiet
waiting for the living room door to shut.
“So how well
do you know him?” Thandi asked inquisitively.
“Remember the
guy I told you about?”
Thandi’s eyes
widened “the one you said was after your friend and she didn’t like him? The
same guy you mentioned that you sort of had a spark the last time you met”
Enesie nodded
her head.
“Oh snap..
and what was his reaction?”
Enesie gave a
blank look and Thandi connected June’s behavior
“he had a
very awkward look on his face”
“This doesn’t
sound good but whatever you do, do not narrate this to her, let him mention it
to her if she will bother to ask”
Enesie nodded
her head.
“By the way,
you told me there was a spark between you two… to what extent? Do you even like
him like that?”
Enesie gave
an unconvincing laughter
“Naa.. just
one of those things… I don’t even like him like that. I just think he deserves
better and I’m glad he met June, she seems to like him and I like her for him..
Thoko is a mess”
Elisha pulled
a chair for June, they had just arrived at a luxurious restaurant where June
could enjoy her sea food. He had asked her what she would love to eat and her
choice was just what he fancied. June was beautiful without a doubt. She had so
much to bring to the table and definitely what every guy would want in a woman,
she had her future goals well set and planned out.
“I love the
ambiance of this place…” June blushed.
Elisha
settled opposite his date and smiled as he took in the breath taking reflection
of God. June was so beautiful she made Elisha very nervous just focusing on
her, they had created a good friendship but something about her still made him
feel the chills.
“I love it
too… but you… you are more beautiful today”
June blushed
and complimented Elisha’s appearance. He did not look shabby himself. The
dinner was progressing well but June was getting sick in her stomach. It wasn’t
the food, she was itching to hear what Elisha would say about the future of
their friendship. One thing about June, she was ready to settle down and she
was not going on too many dates to ascertain the future. She was past dates
that led to nowhere, June needed Elisha to quickly state what his intentions
were for these dates. However, the night ended and Elisha thanked her for her
time.
Even me I want to know
ReplyDeleteElisha should ask her to be his woman.......
ReplyDeleteMaybe Elisha still love Thoko
DeleteEnesie might be wild but she is real....she is the best for him
ReplyDeleteI also think so, from the story June is pretending too much which is not a good thing.
DeleteJune please be patient with Elisha because he's coming from a very bad experience with Thoko, just give the guy a bit of time to know better before he proposes
ReplyDeleteJune is in hurry to get that question.
ReplyDeleteWow Elisha say something to the lady🤗
