RENTED LIFE CHAPTER 35

 Aaliyah was startled, she could not believe her ears as she quickly wiped off her tears. Something was not right; she was overwhelmed with emotion in that moment. Did Kuni know? Did she just come to visit? What was going on? “Kuni...” Repeated hoping she heard wrong

“Yes Kuni, your best friend... please open the door”

Upon hearing those words Aaliyah felt worse, Kuni considered her a sister and best friend, how could she stand the betrayal is she found out?

“Eh Kuni... my love” Aaliyah said as she swiftly wiped her face and put herself together before opening the door.

Kuni hugged her friend tight and wept bitterly.

“Kuni... what is it?” Aaliyah asked as if unaware.

Aaliyah pulled away form Kunii before leading her t the living room and offering her a seat.

“Kuni what is going on? Is anything the matter?”

“Aaliyah... I know... I know everything” she said tearfully.

Tears ran down from Aaliyahs face but she quickly wiped them,

“What do you know?”

“Everything, I love you Aaliyah, you are like a sister to me, you could have told me... I would have understood... there’s nothing I would not do for you... if all you wanted was for me to play the part, I would have...” Kunii wept.

Aaliyah knelt down before Kuni.

“Kuni I am sorry... I will never forgive myself... I honestly don’t even know what I was thinking...”

“You needed the money... I understand... you love your family... there’s nothing I wouldn’t for mine”

“But not to betray you Kuni... you have been nothing but good to me... I owe you...”

“No Aaliyah, I am the one who owes you... look at me, I am working because of you. I am actually in Lusaka because of you... you have done it all for me” “Kuni, you took me through school... you wrote all my assignments and you even helped me study. I owe it all to you...”

“Aaliyah you took me through school, I barely had any food at any given point but you always paid for everything...”

The two ladies hugged and cried together, it was such an emotional moment as they both sat on the floor and reminded each other of how strong their bond was beyond words.

“What do we do now?” Kunii asked as she sobered up.

“Kuni, do you love him?” Aaliyah asked.

“Aaliyah... this is not important... what is important is what is before us... you are having his baby; you should be with him. I honestly have never felt like I fit in that life anyway... I want to go back to my life”

“Kuni...”

“No Aaliyah... lets worry about you and the baby and this situation... what do we do?”

“It’s very important to him that Amanda goes, his parents have had Amanda with I’m to sort of ground him. Simon is a great guy but he had a problem with settling down. Yes, he has had the best of what the world could offer but he never found the woman who loved him deeply and his parents’ were worried that he will lose it. However, he is a very disciplined guy whenever it bordered on who looks up to him no wonder he has never disappointed his parents’. It’s the same thing with his sister, he can only act right around her. But eh is man and I think although he has never realized it, his search days are over and he sis ready to settle down. He just doesn’t see it that way yet. I l know with Amanda going back he will finally realize that he wasn’t missing out anything on the streets”
