RENTED LIFE CHAPTER 41 (FINALE)

 Kuni lay on the bed and was in deep sleep again, Simon watched her for a while before he eventually fell asleep again. It was almost 2pm when Kuni woke up and

she shook Simon.

“We will be late” she said.

The family was waiting eagerly, the house was well decorated and a lot of food and drinks were prepared. Simon straight away went to greet his family while leading Kuni along. Kuni knelt down and greeted everyone there before eventually going to greet her own family. Simon’s dad was sitting with Kunis dad and they were in deep conversation. The ceremony went well with many blessings before they were finally left. Kuni wept as she hugged her mother but her mother assured her, she would visit them as soon as she was back from their honeymoon. Simon and Kuni had a whole month planned of travelling across three countries, The UAE, Manchester and Italy. All these places were strategically picked as Kunis favorite destinations. She had no idea. When they left home, Kuni and Simon headed to their home in Salama park where Simon had built a beautiful four bedroomed house with 3 bathrooms. Finally, and as according to earlier plan, Simon’s dad had suggested that it was time for Amandas to go but Kuni was torn. She could not communicate her thoughts as she was still not sure about staying married. However, if she stayed married, she did not want to Amanda to go. She didn’t mind living with her. It was too late though because Amanda was excited to finally leave Zambia.

It had been two whole months of extreme anxiety, Kuni had not been in touch and Aaliyah was extremely worried about the turn of events. She hoped Kuni had stayed. Kuni had not been active on social media and she had not even bothered to come on WhatsApp, her last seen on her phone was her wedding day. However, it was deliberate, Kuni needed time away from the world to finally put her life together. Aaliyah had even called her friend at the school to enquire of Kuni but she had been on leave for two months.

Aaliyah was nearing her birth the pregnancy were giving her so many worries, all she wanted was to make sure that Kuni was fine and she could not imagine going through labor with no word from her friend. Not even an update on how everything was going. Finally, after the longest wait, Kuni got in touch just a week before Aaliyah would go into labor. The conversation was very different from when they last spoke. As opposed to being the one crying, Kuni was very happy but Aaliyah was crying.

“I thought you hated me and that I would never hear from you again... I was ready to name this baby without your permission...”

“What? You want to call her Kuni?”

Kuni was excited and screaming.

“Where have you been? How is everything? Did you quit your job?”

“Yes I have... I loved it but I am with international school of Lusaka now... well let me just say that I am truly sorry.... I needed time away from everything. I was literally only touch with mum and dad...” she said.

Aaliyah was sad and down she could tell it did not work out form how her friend sounded.

“Are you divorced?” Aaliyah asked.
