It had been three days later, Elisha had neither called nor texted June. It was a bit unusual for a man to behave this way especially that June was quiet fine looking. She was not used to a man ignoring her for no reason and this was not only new but humiliating. While June pretended to Thandi that she was just avoiding Elisha, the truth behind their lack of seeing each other was that Elisha had not reached out after their last date. June had thought of reaching out but was afraid of looking desperate so she ignored the best way she could. That day in the evenings, the ladies had planned to go for dinner and pop some champagne later. June was at pains to explain why she could not go with them; it was going to get even more awkward as she was their host. Ideally, it was out of June’s character to worry about a guy like she was doing over Elisha. However, Elisha was just not any other guy. He was doing fine for himself and was goal oriented just like she desired.

To get her mind in the right place, June decided to take a walk and told Thandi she was simply going to have a private call outside; she said it was something family related. While on her walk, June looked through her phone and noticed Elisha had been online on whatsapp. A little of what she would stand to lose by simply calling him went through her mind. June opted to initiate and maybe see if they could meet up the next day. Despite Elisha coming online as she called, he did not answer.

“Wow...” she thought to herself.

“What sort of embarrassment is this?”

Elisha was polite enough to send a message later explaining that that he was in the middle of something and he would call her back. In attempts to seem like she was not bothered, June ended up replying stating that she was just checking if his hotel had a casino club as her and her friends were thinking of doing something daring that night. Elisha immediately called back.

“Hai...” he greeted in his deep calm voice.

“Halo Mr., sorry i disturbed... is there a casino there?’

“You want to go to a casino?” he asked wonderingly.

June giggled. “Yes we just want to see what happens there... it seems like fun from the movies”

“Oh... my next question was going to be whether you have been to a casino before” he said.

“nahh... never been there...” she said.

“Ok... it’s not a good place for you ladies, it’s not for men either but how about i suggest something better that we can do together?”

June was a little excited except it seemed a little cheap of her to agree to this fun activity when this guy had literally ignored her for a while. Suddenly he was offering to take them on a fun activity, what was even worse was he wanted to do it with the friends. It was clear he had put her somewhere in the friend zone.

“Well, we were thinking of just being out as ladies but maybe that can work tomorrow... is that fine? I can tell them”

Elisha did not oppose and wished her a lovely evening.

Enesie was dosing on the couch when June walked in looking a little unpleased, her presence was felt as she threw herself on the couch next to Enesie. Enesie dragged her feet to the ground, she smiled and tried to engage June in a conversation but she immediately plugged headsets in her ears and focussed on her phone.
